3 more Supercharged 1UZ-FE Lexus/Toyota V8s in Jet Boats

July 2006, by Peter Scott

Boats are great - no under bonnet space restraints, no transmision to run, no car dash errors, freedom of ECU choice and plenty of cool water available. These pics are from nzjetboating.com - thanks to Michael and Stephen for the information. http://lextreme.com/ is also a good source of information for the 1UZ-FE.

This project has been happening for the last few months but has finally been completed.
As like most of us we get used to the performance of our boat and then want more, I was like no other and decided to SUPERCHARGE my Lexus V8 in conjunction with Neville Stowell of Linktec.

It started of as a small project using a EATON M90 design, which is used on the Buick V6 motors but these didn't quite suit my requirements so I purchased a WHIPPLE twin screw Lyscholm design from USA. See http://www.whipplesuperchargers.com/product.asp?ProdID=1162

The first part was too make a plenum chamber that the charger bolted too, this also then needed to direct the forced air into the inlet holes on the block. As you may see from the picture's we cut the existing plenum chamber and made a box to sit down in the valley.

A number of other items were changed to maximise potential of charger. I puchased 8x RB26 440cc injectors to replace the 251cc to make sure plenty of fuel was available. Cooling running Platinum spark plugs to make sure heat is kept to a minimum.
A HUGE thanks to Neville, the man's a legend with anything complex. He is considering the supply of this setup to a fabrication of plenum chamber stage etc.
If you have any complicated questions as to the operation of this setup or interested in purchasing a Supercharger for your Lexus give him a call on the following:
