the way, i bought the $8500 ebay soarer, build no 136 i think. Doing
the water pump, prick of a job,cam belt and bits that go along with it,
Re-seal 4 struts, new bushes, VFT of course, radiator top tank, blinky
dash repair and all should be well, (i think) does anyone know of a
seal kit or have they done an active hydraulic pump. I wouldn't mind
doing it while everything else is off (if its not too expensive) Should be a good thing hopefully in a month or two. ![](136_files/banghead.gif) |

| What a shame
Wonder how much it would cost to restore it. Pity to see one going to
the graveyard given there were so little of them ever made... I love
soarers, one time i almost had a tear in my eye when i witnessed some
punk crashing and rolling a stolen soarer... some bastards really don't
appreciate work of art do they ![](136_files/angryfire.gif) |

| Dan, the seal kit is available for the hydraulic pump. It's the seals on the valves that wear out. By
FAR the biggest drama is getting the damn pump outa the car (Involves
MAJOR amounts of cussing & loss of skin, and takes like, FOREVER!).
Once the little darling is out, it's a doddle to do. I'm at work at the mo, but when I get home I'll look up some part numbers for ya. Also check out TIF's site. "Carlos" did a rebuild on his struts and hydraulic pump, and he took pics of the entire process. Suggest checking "All threads" by Carlos from, say, 1/6/2005 >, that should get ya the info ya need. | It
would be a bit pricey though wouldn't it? Judging from the description
the car is in a major state of disrepair, fixing all those missing
parts, worn parts, crappy paintjob would all together cost a small
fortune to replace. I reckon buy the car for $4,000, do the work
yourself and spend hopefully another 10,000 not more and make it a
decent ride. Wonder if that's possible at all. If he's willing to let
it go for that much who knows, it might still see the road in the
future if somebody gives it some TLC. |

| He's
dreaming, I'd give him 5. Oh well, never mind then. Too hard since the
car's in a different state too otherwise i'd go check it out anyway.
It's gotta have a price where it's actually worth fixing it, otherwise
i'd rather spend 20K or more on a good 32 without the hassle. There was
a guy (international uni student) leaving for home in like 3 weeks, was
selling his 32 for $17,000 and it was top condition. No way this guy
gonna sell this soarer for 10. |

| Sadly it's debatable if it's worth anything other than as a source of spare parts to a current UZZ32 owner ![](136_files/sad.gif) |

| So
tell me fellas, what is the differences between them all? Why was their
only 873 UZZ32's ever made, what makes them unique to every other
soarer out there. Is there anywhere on the net I can read up on this. I
have always wondered but never found the answers. Can someone please
explain this to me??? |

| Steve.......As
far as I know, active hydraulic suspension and 4 wheel steering versus
airbag suspension and 2 wheel steering are about the only difference
between a UZZ32 and a UZZ31. That and the fact that the UZZ32 got the
TT brakes and 16 inch rims to clear them. I'd say the fact that the
active suspension and 4 wheel steer setup was prohibitively expensive
to produce is the major reason less than a thousand were built. As for where to find info on them........no better place than Peter Scott's PLANET SOARER website: www.planetsoarer.com Click on "Active" in the list down the left side of the page and all will be revealed! |

| Active
suspension rather than Airbag(UZZ31) or coils(UZZ30), which is damn
awesome, actively adjusting roll amount with yaw sensors etc... 4 wheel steering. And all the other usual features. Well worth it. |

| Yeah
just read that up on planetsoarer, i have just come to realise that I
missed out on a UZZ32 in a car yard on parramatta road about a year ago
for $15000 by the sounds of things. and the car was immac, the reason
why i didnt buy it was cause the old battle axe wouldnt budge of
$15000. I only had $13000 to spend. Spewing a little. So i settled for
a TT. |

if ya can score a drive in one, you'll be quite amazed at the
difference to ALL other Soarers........No squat....No dive.....No
yaw.....No body roll....(Well none to speak of anyway), and 1 meter
less turning circle curtesy of the 4 wheel steering. Only down side is, they way as much as an obese pregnant Hippopotamus
